GTL's offices and laboratories are located on the Rappahannock River at Leedstown in Westmoreland County, VA. This location is within a 50 mile radius of Washington National Airport and Richmond International Airport.
The Leedstown facility has 26,600 square feet of laboratory space; 1,700 square feet of office space; 4,500 square feet of storage space; and 6,200 square feet of covered open work areas. This building complex is on a 12-acre industrial site with 880 feet of water front along a 45-foot deep channel 50 miles up the Rappahannock River from the Chesapeake Bay. Other features include a 100-foot pier with 20 foot draft and mooring/docking provisions.
The Administration Offices, the Machine Shop, Electronics and Calibration Laboratory is contained in an 86-foot by 84-foot building. Machine shop equipment includes lathes, milling machines, drill presses, band saws, grinders and sanders, welding equipment including MIG, AC/DC and Oxy Acetylene and a full complement of hand tools. The Electronics Laboratory is fully equipped to support testing, calibration and repair, as well as electronic equipment, assembly, and fabrication. The Environmental Section has chambers for high temperature, low temperature, humidity, vacuum/pressure and altitude testing, with appropriate controllers and recording equipment.
The Automotive Test Laboratory is housed in a 120-foot by 123-foot by 20-foot high pre-fabricated steel building equipped with test fixtures, instrumentation and equipment required for Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard and related testing. GTL's Test Track is of the monorail design, 10-foot wide level reinforced concrete extending 500 feet outside the Automotive Test Laboratory stopping at the test pad located inside the Automotive Test Laboratory building.
